creative pause

In every space we reach, our programmes are designed to be flexible, adaptable and best meet the needs of any given community.

our mission

Make the practice of art a powerful connector, widely accessible and integral to enhancing health, for people of all ages.

  • Create spaces that inspire spontaneous moments of creative calm in hospitals and the community at large.

  • Break down generational barriers, patient-carer boundaries and social confines through the connective powers of art.

  • Deliver free-flow art programmes that are entirely co-created, with material drawn and designed for our organisation by artists of all ages, worldwide.

our programmes

creative care packs

We deliver Care Packs filled with our uniquely co-created resources across Hospital wards and staff rooms.

Since launching, we have delivered 8000s+ packs to our partner hospitals. These have travelled through oncology, maternity, cardiac, transplant, mental health, emergency and outpatient units and healthcare staff rooms to name a few.

Art Table 02.jpg

the open art table

We hold drop-in art sessions in hospitals and GP clinics where fear, boredom and stress run high.

We welcome patients, friends, families and healthcare staff to work with a variety of art materials together at the table or in their own space.

Each session is built around a theme, which is designed to be accessible while giving structure. We are often inspired by our monthly Artist in Residence who regularly come in to run sessions of their own.

community workshops

We deliver regular open-art sessions outside of clinical spaces.

A few of these outreach groups include: the elderly; those touched by breast cancer; people living with dementia; and adolescents.

As above, each session is built around a theme, which is designed to be accessible while giving structure. With some of our regular groups we are able to delve into more intricate art projects, co-creating workshops based on their suggestions.

We are often inspired by our monthly Artist in Residence who regularly come in to run sessions of their own.

colouring books

We design beautiful therapeutic art books (drawn from our growing catalogue of artworks or in partnership with other organisations) to donate to hospital nurses, doctors and support staff, as well as patients.

Each time a book is purchased we can donate another one.

We have so far donated over 2,000 copies.

Don’t take our word for it…

  • Research

“Participation in culture and the arts has the potential to radically shape the future of the health and social care landscape and give voice to the most marginalised members of our society.”

    World Healthcare Congress Europe 2019

  • Testimonial

“Not only did they find the art therapeutic, but feeling like they were connected to a ‘normal’ non-medical person in the outside world helped them to feel less trapped and alone.”

Dr Dominic Aubrey-Jones, Psychiatry Trainee, Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust

“The NHS needs to reach beyond its conventional medical box and now regard arts interventions as mainstream.”

— Dr Michael Dixon, Chair of the College of Medicine and former President of NHS Clinical Commissioners
